Prior to opening Fabulous Furballs in August 2007, Krista was a life long animal lover and consumer of all things luxury for her pets. Upon relocating to the Edmonton area from Las Vegas, Nevada, Krista discovered that there was no pet spa or high end boutique that met her fussy Yorkshire Terrier's standards. Thus, Fabulous Furballs was born! Krista's greatest pride is that each furball we are entrusted with is treated as our own- it is not uncommon to come in and find your pampered pooch relaxing behind our counter or on our manager's lap post spa treatment instead of languishing in a cage

Krisa is featured on Animal Planet's hit show, Groomer Has It Season 2, as the first Canadian contestant. She is also featured on the cover of Canadian Groomer Summer 2009, and is honored as one of the Edmontonian's Sizzling 20 Businesspeople Under 30.

George J. Merik has over 25 years of experience in Business Management, Operations, Development/Expansion, Construction, Commissary/Warehouse, Supply Chain Management, and Marketing. Most recently he held the position of Director of Operations for Pizza 73/Pizza Pizza in Western Canada. George was involved in the relocation, renovation, and opening of over 80 stores in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia over the last several years. He was responsible for the day to day operations of all Western Canadian Units, and 2 regional Commissaries. George and his wife Linda reside in the Calgary area, and have 2 teenage 2 sons.

Darren Wagner brings his many years of executive level management experience at Cash Stores and Pizza 73 to the Fabulous Furballs family of companies. Darren is passionate about building relationships with people and offering excellent customer service. Darren's expertise is in growing businesses and he has helped to open hundreds of locations throughout Western Canada for the Cash Store brand. Darren and his family reside in the Edmonton area.

KATHARINA HUEGGENBERG Certified Professional

A recent honors graduate of The Fur Institute, Kat has combined her ten years of experience breeding & showing Boxers with The Fur Institute's solid grooming foundation to create a career she loves. Kat's passion is for bringing the latest styles back from the dog shows and putting your pet into the trendiest cut possible. Kat recently achieved her Certified Feline Master Groomer credential from the National Cat Groomers Institute of America, and loves making feisty felines look fabulous!

After over 11 years at a large retail grooming facility in the Edmonton area, Liz has joined our fabulous team as both a master professional pet stylist and certified professional pet stylist instructor. Liz is well known in the Edmonton area for her scissor mastery, professionalism, and attention to detail. No matter if your beloved furball is a gourmet mix or a true blue pure bred, Liz has the talent to create the style you desire.

After almost eight years with a large box store chain in management and pet styling, Tamara joined the Fabulous Furballs team to focus on quality. Tamara specializes in hand scissoring, breed specific hair cuts, and catering to her clients. When Tamara is not teaching students or pampering her clients, she is home with her boyfriend and their personal zoo.

GAYLE COMPTON Fabulous Groomer, Certified Instructor

Gayle is more affectionately known as 'Grandma Gayle' at both Fabulous Furballs and the Fabulous Fur Institute. Gayle brings over 30 years of experience as a pet stylist, instructor, and former owner of a successful pet salon to our company. Gayle is never without her rescue dog, Sadie, who has been trained to tell jokes and do tricks. Gayle's passion for all things pet related is obvious to all of her clients and students.

JENNIFER WACK Fabulous Groomer & Certified Professional Pet Stylist & Certified Grooming Instructor
Jennifer joins the Fabulous Furballs family after many years with a large pet store. Jennifer is passionate about the pet styling profession and her own pets, involving them in every aspect of her life- including her wedding! After a successful career in the dental field, Kathy decided to follow her passion and become a fabulous fur guru for our St Albert location. Our St. Albert location has taken over the great grooming legacy built by the legendary Puppy Palace, which was established in 1973 on the values of quality, excellent customer service, and catering to the pets in the St. Albert area. Tina's love of animals was firmly instilled in her while growing up on her family's farm, where she grew up with dogs, cats, and a whole herd of cattle!  After working for a number of years in the restaurant industry, Tina decided to return to her first love, working with animals. Tina enjoys spoiling her three dogs, Katt, Moocho, and Jake on their lovely acreage just outside of the city.  A graduate of The Fur Institute, Tina has an excellent foundation of skills and knowledge in pet grooming.  She will treat your pet like one of her own!

KC O'BRIEN Certified Master Cat Groomer &

SHEENA FERGUSON Fabulous Sales Guru
Prior to Sheena joining Fabulous Furballs in mid September of 2011,
Sheena created a business involving her passion for the competitive sport of
cheerleading. Having over 8 years as a competitive cheerleader including former
Edmonton Eskimos Cheerleader and 10 year coaching competitive cheerleading
Sheena decided to start her own gym. After a few years of being the Owner/
Director of a highly successful All-Star Competitive Cheerleading gym called
Fusion Spirit Leaders, Sheena wanted to spent more time with her family.
Sheena still coaches competitive cheerleading and also coaches gymnastics.
Sheena also has two Diplomas one in Early Childhood Development and the
other in Hair Styling. Sheena and her lovable Chihuahua mix Avery were loyal
clients of Fabulous Furballs before joining the Fabulous family. Sheena enjoys
spending her time with her two fur babies Avery & Nya (a California Cutie rescue)
and partner Matt at off-leash parks and doggie play groups. Sheena can't wait
to style your fur baby in all of our stylish, blinged-out and hip clothing and pet
accessories.
