Popular Local Franchise Undergoes Organizational Changes, Moving to Corporate Model
(February 8, 2012) EDMONTON - Organizational changes to the boutique pet spa, Fabulous Furballs, recently showcased on Dragons' Den, Alberta Venture Magazine and the Sherwood Park News, have been drawing much attention in the Sherwood Park community.
"Our first and foremost priority is always our clients." explained Krista Castellarin, Founder of the company. "All changes made are about protecting the brand, and ensuring out client's fabulous experience consistently remains of the highest quality."
The statement came about as a result of recent claims made to the media by disgruntled franchisees, with the pivotal point of contention going as far back as December when a franchisee refrained from active participation in an annual charity event put on by Fabulous Furballs for the Edmonton Humane Society. Since then, numerous complaints had been reported to Castellarin, who felt action had to be taken.
Although the Sherwood Park location has been closed due to unspecified breaches of contract, Castellarin happily confirmed that all is still Fabulous as plans for a new corporate headquarters are being finalized. "This will let us get back to focusing on our clients. They have been so supportive despite recent challenges."
The company has expansion plans for Western Canada, and has received over 300 franchise inquiries, although the deal with the Dragons is not off the table.

Fabulous Furballs is thrilled to announce our fifth year of hosting Pet Photos with Santa to benefit the Edmonton and Calgary Humane Societies. One of the corporate values that our entire company is most passionate about is that: We go to extraordinary lengths to give back to the communities we are located in and we believe that all furballs deserve to feel fabulous. We are advocates for abused, abandoned, and mistreated animals and we take this responsibility seriously.

In Calgary, our Crowfoot location is offering digital photos emailed to you for $10 with all proceeds benefiting the Calgary Humane Society on Sunday, December 4th from 10AM-6PM. In the Edmonton area all of our photos benefit the Edmonton Humane Society, will be emailed to you digitally within one week of the photo being taken, and cost $10. No need for an appointment and there are three dates to choose from: Sunday, December 4 from 9AM-5PM at Sherwood Park; Sunday, December 11 from 9AM-5PM at Terwillegar; and Sunday, December 18 from 9AM-5PM at St. Albert.
