Hi there fabulous world!
For the next couple of weeks, I have lent my blog to some of the key people in our organization to share with you why they went fabulous and joined us in our cause to rid the world of unfabulous treatment of pets and pet owners. Allow me to introduce you to our newest addition, Aaron Bjorndal. Aaron and his wife Mayumi are the new owners of the Terwillegar location and are thrilled to have joined our fabulous family!

Why did I go Fabulous?
Why not? There are so many reasons, where do I start?! Local is a big one for me, the Fabulousness (if that's a word) started here in Edmonton. Being surrounded by pet lovers and adorable pets always makes me feel good. Pets in my Family have always been...well like Family and that's something that attracted me. And I must mention that fundraising for the Humane Society is uber-fabulous. Community, customer service, zshoosh ( I think that's how you spell it), and did I mention that I love hot pink, too?

Happy Father's Day Fabulous People!
I have been very lucky to have had an amazing father. My dad was a small town high school teacher and coach. You may not realize it, but in small town America, being a high school coach is just short of being the Police Chief. Needless to say, I managed to find plenty of trouble, but I also managed to use up untold hundreds of my father's favors around town getting out of it. To this day, I wonder if the local cops pull him over for speeding, would they say "Come on Mr Whitley, your daughter used up all your good will in this town, so this ticket is all yours." Who am I kidding? Dad never speeds.
My dad is a natural athlete, having gone to Pacific Lutheran University on a baseball scholarship and still holding records for stolen bases there today. He has bowled a perfect 300 game, run a softball umpire association, hit a hole in one golfing, and coached and managed every sport you can think of from girl's basketball to football. He's the kind of guy that everyone likes and if you aren't a fan, he will just kill you with kindness. I've often said he would have been a better car salesman than teacher, but my natural teaching ability and determination is thanks to him. Dad set the bar really high for the man in my life and my husband has exceeded all of my expectations as a father.
Dwayne doesn't come from a family where he had a great father as an example and since he was adopted, having children was a requirement. Our girls, Bella and Mia, are the light of Dwayne's life. He relishes changing diapers, makes sure my parents and grandparents get their weekly skype visits, and is right there with the girls coloring, painting, and telling them how beautiful they are when they play princess. Dwayne's primary job is stay at home dad and there isn't a domesticated chore he doesn't look after with pride. Dishes, laundry, and grocery shopping are all done to perfection and he knows the preferences of all the ladies in the house. Our family is his pride and joy and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Fathers are so important to children. My father encouraged me to be confident, outspoken, and to lead. Cheers to all of the fabulous fathers out there this Fathers Day weekend!
